Custom Guitar

- Ian Blakey -

I began playing guitar at the age of 12, learning and playing mostly classic rock and hard rock. After playing in several bands in high school, and purchasing a cheap 8-track recorder, I decided I wanted to pursue a job in the field of recording. I moved to Hollywood, California and enrolled in the RIT program at The Musician’s Institute. After obtaining the glamorous position of "studio runner" at several famous LA studios, I remained in LA for a few years, before returning to Arizona to pursue other musical projects.  Fast forward many years... I began building furniture as a hobby and due to my passion for music, I was inspired to build my first custom guitar in 2014. After what seems like a very long couple of years, I am very pleased to bring you bel. Sonique guitars!

- Alex Dorsten -

I started playing guitar at the age of 11 and I was first introduced to wood working when I was 5 years old. I started by helping my grandpa build old revolutionary war flint lock rifles. I then taught guitar for a few years all the way from about 7th grade to sophomore year of high school. All throughout high school I played in bars with cover bands, and eventually started writing music with bands and since then have recorded in various studios in Arizona, as well as in Austin, and more recently Nashville. After playing in successful local bands I came into contact with Ian and he introduced me to the brand in 2017 at first it was to play some guitars at some shows, then turned into learning how guitars were made and building them with him. Now I work along side of Ian in getting products out to customers and building them as quick as the orders come in.
